Dear Band Students and Families,

On behalf of the Deep Run Band Boosters (DRBB) and the entire Deep Run Band Family, we are excited to see you at Jump Start!  The Deep Run Band program is a 15-time Virginia Honor Band and this year the Deep Run High School Music Department has achieved Blue-Ribbon status from the Virginia Music Educators Association again! This honor is given to schools who have their most advanced band, chorus, and orchestra receive superior ratings at District Assessments. This achievement marks the fourteenth straight year that DRHS has earned this Blue-Ribbon status distinction - the longest current streak in the state of Virginia!!!   Tradition, excellence and commitment run deep within our program!!!  We are honored you and your student have chosen our program and we are proud to have you as a member of the Deep Run Wildcat Band!!!

The Deep Run Band Boosters support the Concert Bands and the Marching Wildcats who provide the music and the Color Guard who provide the music’s visual interpretation.  These groups work together to achieve the school’s superior program while also building lifelong friendships!
As we begin Jump Start, please take a moment to confirm your student is enrolled in Marching Band (course # 9232Y) – this allows your student to participate after the school day while also obtaining 0.5 Honors credit.  Your student should also be signed up for a Concert Band course that meets during the school day: brass players: #9234B, percussionists: #9234P, woodwinds: #9234W. If you have any course registration questions, please contact your current guidance counselor or Mr. Pennington.
