Fundraising It’s extremely important to raise funds throughout the year to support our budget since about a third of our operating costs come from fundraising. All levels of support are significant and add up. Fundraising efforts include:
Direct donations and corporate matching of charitable contributions
Corporate Sponsorships
Spirit Nights - Avoid cooking and help the band. Local restaurants give back to the band when you patronize their business on scheduled nights. Calendar forthcoming.
The Band Concession Stand at home football games. Please look for our sign as other concession stands benefit other Deep Run groups like Athletics. About a third of your meal cost at our concession benefits the band.
Kroger Card - register with Kroger – shop as you normally would and the band receives a percentage of your purchases!
Flower Sales - Purchase Poinsettias (December) and Geraniums (May) to decorate the stage for concerts, and then take them home to enjoy!
Cookie Dough Sale - in the fall, just in time for holiday baking.
Deep Run High School Booster Bash, Spring 2019.
Note: We are always looking for new ideas!!! If you have one, please feel free to share!!!
If you have any questions or ideas you would like to share regarding fundraising please contact Susan Polen, 2nd VP Ways and Means, gdmiller11@gmail.com. Volunteering The Deep Run Band Boosters is a 100% volunteer supported organization that pulls together for the benefit of our students’ passion for music and marching band. What does it take to support an elite band? It is estimated that it takes about 1,246 total volunteer hours to make Marching Band Season run smoothly. We need you! An added bonus, get to know the kids and parents that make up this great team.
How can you support the volunteer effort? Interested to see what happens at Band Camp? Sign up for a shift and be amazed at what you see!
Work in the concession stand during home games.
Become a “Pit Crew” member. The pit crew build and collapse the props at performances, load/unload large instruments, sound system and podiums from the truck.
Chaperone a game or competition. Sit with the band and feel the energy that the Marching Wildcats emit.
Wash Uniforms. Help keep our Marching Wildcats looking their best by washing uniform pants. It’s an easy job and instructions are included!
Help feed the band. Volunteer to help feed the band on Friday nights prior to the games.
Take pictures. If you love photography we have a job for you.
If you are a nurse we could use you to help keep our Marching Wildcats in tip-top shape!
Provide a dish for our potluck dinner/celebrations or dessert for receptions held after concerts.
Attend Band Booster Meetings! Consider sharing your time and talents by serving on the Booster Board or as a Committee Chair.
During marching band season, it’s paramount and expected for families to support the band through volunteering. Add a fresh perspective and a new face to the team by helping us spread the volunteer load. Strive to have your family volunteer about 20-30 hours per marching band season. It is lots of fun! If any of these volunteer positions appeal to you please contact Wendy Miller, 1st VP Volunteers, wmmiller96@outlook.com or talk to any of the Board Members. Don’t be shy! Volunteers for almost every type of position must fill out an HCPS Volunteer Application. If you haven’t filled out a form this year, please do so and give the form to the Jump Start team or Wendy Miller, 1st VP Volunteers. All volunteerism is coordinated through Sign-Up Genius – click on the links provided in Eblasts to register or simply “Find a Signup” by searching for drmbvolunteers@gmail.com.
